Editorial process and peer review

CJLT accepts submission of original manuscripts within its thematic scope and languages as indicated in the Call for Submissions. A double-blind peer-review process will apply to both the Translation practice and the Research sections. Reviews will be managed internally.

All submissions are first evaluated anonymously by the editors of their respective section. The selected submissions then undergo a double-blind peer review with external referees and/or members of the Advisory Board and Consultant Editors, chosen for their specific competences and research fields. The Reviews editors will ensure that reviews remain anonymous when submitted to a member of the Editorial or Advisory Boards or Consulting Editors for comments.

Criteria for publication include: appropriateness to the journal’s mission (or to the unifying theme or issue), potential impact on the field of literary translation practice and scholarship. Submissions must not have been previously published.

Decision-making concerning submissions is without regard to authors’ language, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, affiliation, geographic location, or political positioning. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, compliance with copyright law and CJLT’s code of ethics and Open Access principles.

Code of ethics

CJLT’s code of ethics is inspired by the COPE Code of Conduct.

The Editorial Board as a whole, Authors, Guest Editors, Referees, and the Publisher are required to accept and abide by the ethical code. Elements of the code of ethics are also detailed below.
